EXTRACTIVES INDUSTRY HEALTH AND SAFETY FORUMS

MinEx in conjunction with WorkSafe held orums in various regional centres in 2015/16

These presentations and discussions focused on:

  • The new Health and Safety at Work Act that came into force on 4 April

  • The 2013 regulations that have since been updated with the new act

  • The 'Good Practice Guidelines: Health and Safety at Opencast Mines, Alluvial Mines and Quarries' released in Nov 2015

  • Certificate of Competency training requirements.

What do these changes mean for you, when do they apply and what do we need to do?

These forums are an opportunity to learn how you, the industry, and the regulator can work together to ensure every site achieves the improvements in health and safety performance that all employees are entitled to.

If you missed a forum session in your region, you can download a copy of the presentation here
